| | myLot Discussions| I Don't Know How to Quiet my Dog | | My dog, Chloe is a Japanese Spitz. My brother bought her from his officemate. Chloe was such a cute dog. When she was very little, she looked so fragile, meek and sweet. She doesn't used to bark. In fact whenever some friends come to our house, she gets scared so she hides wherever she can. She also trembles when somebody hold her high. When as she was growing up, she became a pain in the butt! She barks at every person who comes to our house. I don't know if she's jealous or what. She barks when someone knocks at the door. She barks when she phone rings or when she hears people talking outside the house.Chloe doesn't simply bark. She barks very loudly that she wakes me up in the morning. Her barks reverberates to the whole house and it is so embarrassing to the visitor. We cannot quiet her - nobody in the house can. We spank her but after a few seconds she goes back to her barking. I don't know what to do with her. She's cute when she's behave but as soon as she barks her bark - she gives me headache! Any help please? | |

| | Listening to music at work - why do other people like it quiet? | | It is absolutely dead quiet where I work. All that quiet is not a good thing for me while working. I don't care if it is just noise. The radio goes on and listening to it at least gives some relief from the quiet. Quiet is good for sleeping, studying or enjoying nature. Don't get it - I must be wired different or something. Why do the other people like it so quiet? | |
| | Is it possible for five family members to stay quiet in an apartment? | | I know that was a dumb question. But I am asking you this because the guy downstairs feels this way. If there are five members, then you know that there will be some kind of noise. He has got to me kidding me, if he expects it to be quiet. I have an 8, 4 and 2 year old. They are not going to want to sit down all day long.. Speaking of noise, last night, they were fighting. A woman was yelling at the top of her lungs. She kept calling someones name to let her inside of the apartment. And I heard a lot of movement. My husband said that he saw a computer monitor on the ground outside. He said that it was thrown out there. I guess the woman did this. My husband started to call the police on them last night. I told him not to. I did not know that it was my neighbors from downstairs that was doing all of this arguing. I thought that it was the girl that lived underneath my neighbor's, that lives in front of me. And he wants it quiet, but yet they were fighting..[em]rolleyes[/em] I always say, when a person tries to create problems in someones home, they end up creating problems in their own home. The hole that this man has dug for my family, he has now fallen into this same very... | |
| | Do you expect to have peace and quiet in an apartment? | | If you are living in an apartment, whether it is sound proof or not, do you expect to have peace and quiet throughout the entire day? The reason why I ask this is because, my downstairs neighbor says that he wants it to be quiet as if he was living in a house. The manager has told him, that this is no house and that he will hear some noise. I don't understand why can't he just move into a house. If he does, he will have all of the quietness that he would like. The only noise would be him and any other people that are living with him. The only way that he will hear any noise, is if he has his door wide open or, his window open. Or, if he just decided to just step outside. Why can't he understand that if you are living in an public apartment that it will be noise of some kind? And even when it is curfew time, you will still hear noise. People stand outside after 9 p.m. around this apartment complex, and they make noise by talking loudly. And doing whatever is against the rules here. I am inside or either gone when all this is taken place. I can comprehend that it is not going to be all so lovely and quiet here, when I want it to be. I know that there are many private apartment... | |
| | Is your library a quiet one? | | I have been to libraries and there is one that I visit at times that it's the noisiest of them all. The worst part is that's it's the librarians and their helpers that are making the most noise. I remember when I was at my library in High School you had to whisper now you talk openly and the cell phones are going off people cursing occasionally, I know seems hard to believe but it does happen, I have seen and heard it first hand. I am here today and it's not so bad, it's quiet today, maybe there is a change coming. | |
| | in the quiet of my mind | | in the quiet of my mindwhispering and dancing
circling and chantingsnickering and pointing
poking and laughinground and round
faster and fasterswirling and twirling
shouting and screamingbashing and dashing
cut and runrun and scream
screaming mad[em]surrender[/em]so i have recently realized that i am working through a bi polar switch. i am glad i am starting to recognize them so i can learn how better to deal with them. im noticing that they are happening about the same time of the year every year. end of winter early spring. up until now i have had trouble seeing it for what it was, cuz i been spending the rest of the year trying to fix myself and what i messed up during the switch, but now... now it can be different. i realized this one somewhere right before the usual freak out in which i quit a job or run off a friend. i was on the line of doing something irrational but i stopped. i stopped and took some meds.. thank you lord for allowing me to see this.
| | Quiet! I can't take it anymore! | | As some of you may know, I have acquired kitten earlier this year.
She's almost 6 months old now and we think she has started going into heat.
A couple weeks ago was the first time- she rolled around on the carpet like crazy, rubbed against us unusually affectionately and sat by the door and yowled and yowled uncontrollably.
Right now is the second time, as a matter of fact she's yowling away as I type. She carrys on with it all through the night keeping everyone awake.
I did a little research about cats in heat on the internet and it appears that there is no way to stop the yowling, other than spaying which we are planning to do in the very near future.
I have found that occupying her attention- for example playing with this feather-tpy with her- will temporarily quiet her, but other than that I am at a loss. This yowling is driving everyone in the house crazy!

| | Do you have a daily quiet time? | | I guess some people might call it meditation or something. I try to have some times during the day where I just get quiet. I usually use the time to meditate on different things. Usually on a particular scripture or prayer maybe. I try to find some time every day to just be quiet. Don't you think it is good for your body and soul to just get quiet sometimes? | |
