| The Tell-Tale Heart | | Has anyone read The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe lately? I just read it again for the first time in many years. I am on a "classics" thing right now. Anyway, it really struck me how one (with a conscience that is) will do something they know is wrong and then be compelled to confess. I believe that it is something that is learned at a certain developmental stage, one of those stages where one is discovering "right and wrong." There are those who believe that it is an inherant trait. But how could that be? Anyhow, please read the story, it will take you 15 mins or less and let me know you thoughts on the story and the moral thought. Thanks! | |
| | master of horror | | Edgar Allen Poe has to be the maste of horror. His books get inside the characters head and extract fear and bottle it up. I like the raven because its about fear and despair. I wanna read the fall of the house of usher. Whats that about? | |
| | His literary genius | | My father and I were discussing the works of Edgar Allen Poe. He told me his favorite was "the tell tale heart" and how much it had chilled him. He also liked "The Raven" due to the poetic words that flowed poetically. Mine are "The Pit and the Pendulum" and "The Black Cat" I really don't know why I picked these two, but they grabbed me as if a hand was reaching out of a grave somewhere in my mind. The season of Halloween pales in comparison to what E A Poe has done for the written word. Do you have a personal favorite, and why?[em]ninja[/em] | |

| | the telltale signs that you are angry | | Babies tend to suck their thumbs when they are upset. But I think that wouldn't be appropriate for adults. So we sort of find ways to calm ourselves when our temper is getting the best of us.My friends would know that I'm not pleased or angry when my cheeks twitch while talking. I could seem calm on the outside but my cheeks show what I'm really feeling.Do your eyebrows go up? Or someone would know because you would be wringing their necks?:) | |
| | Tell tale signs of sleepiness | | Does your baby or child have any cute tell tale signs of being sleepy? My youngest daughter Alley who is 18 months will be walking or crawling around the house and start whining and all of a sudden will pop her finger in her mouth and with her other hand she'll play with her curls in her hair. It's so adorable. Kids are so cute, please share your cute stories! | |
