| His literary genius | | My father and I were discussing the works of Edgar Allen Poe. He told me his favorite was "the tell tale heart" and how much it had chilled him. He also liked "The Raven" due to the poetic words that flowed poetically. Mine are "The Pit and the Pendulum" and "The Black Cat" I really don't know why I picked these two, but they grabbed me as if a hand was reaching out of a grave somewhere in my mind. | | What is your favorite Edgar Allan Poe story and/or poem? | | I really enjoy reading anything Edgar Allan Poe thanks to my dad that would read me those scary stories at night since he knew I loved them. I wasn't that young anyways but we would discuss the stories and poem even up to this day. My favorite story is the pit and the pendulum, how about you guys?

| | Pit bulls | | I love them!There is a major stigma attached to them, but I feel it is mostly about who the pet parent is and how the dog is treated and raised.One of our dogs is a yellow lab/pit bull mix. Lucky for us, she looks like Marley, so we get no grief from neighbors. She does like to chew stuff...One of my friends' families always adopts abandoned pit bulls as their pets.Do you have a pit bull or mix and how do you deal with criticism of those who don't understand how sweet they can be? | |

| The joys and pit falls of self employment | | For anyone who has tried to be self employed they how hard it can be. It can be even harder if you don't plan out how you are going to support yourself or your family during the dry spells.Working for yourself does mean you get paid all the money from the job you do which is nice and rewarding. Being able to create your own hours and decide what days you want to work. Sounds like an ideal situation, so why doesn't everybody do it. Because there are pitfalls to it. If someone isn't careful they can cause themselves and their family great financial harm because they didn't plan.For instance you get to keep all the money but you still have to pay taxes, bills, and you should put some away for when you don't have any work lined up and the money isn't coming in. Normally people who work for themselves do pay their taxes so why wouldn't it be normal to stock away a certain percentage of the money for when it's really needed? I've seen too many cases where people claim to be self employed, get sick or the work runs out and they cry poor mouth because when the money was coming in they blew it on things that weren't important or needed to live. They then fall behind on their bills.... | |
| | Pit Bulls arent bad. | | I own a 10 year old pit bull and her name is baby, and she pretty much is one. She Is the sweetest and loving dog around actually. We have two now, and theyre both very nice dogs, so tho who ever sais that theyre bad dogs I think are wrong, Its how you raise them.
