myLot Discussions| Don't crack me up | | Yesterday my box came in the mail. A couple of years ago, I saw an ad for Leigh Valentine's non-surgical face lift. It's basically a facial masque that you apply at home. I tried it and I liked it a lot. Makes my skin look nice.:-)So it had been a few years and I decided that I wanted to do it again. I was going to wait until the weekend, but that box was just sitting there saying, "now, do it now, you know you want to." So I did.Basically you mix a powder with a liquid and brush it onto your face and neck. Then you relax and don't talk or anything while it hardens. It's supposed to stay on for half an hour. Well... 25 minutes into this, Richard, Dearra and Naomi come into the room and see me sitting there with my hair tied back and what looks like dried glue on my face. And once they saw what was going on, the stinkers tried to crack me up.And I'm waving at them to get out of the room, but nobody's listening. So finally I had to laugh. Crack went my face. | | Vitamin K cream | | I recently recieved a sample kit from a skin care company called BKamins. In the kit I recieved face moistureizer, face masque, wrinkle serum, and vitamin K eye cream. So far I have only use the eye cream, and only 3-4 times so far, but I believe that I am already seeing an improvement in the skin around my eyes. | | Do You Stock Up On Things, When You See a Deal? | | If you see something that you know you will use eventually, On Sale, do you buy many of them and store them away so you have them> Or do you just buy things as you need them? I stock up, myself, and I find that I save alot of money in the long run by doing that. For example, as I mentioned in a prvious discussion about Dollar Stores, I recently bought 7 tubs of face wash and 2 tubes of face masque all at once, because it was at Dollarama for $1 a bottle. The brand is Biore and based on the price of the same product at Walmart (where I usually shop for most things) I just saved myself $99 in comparison to what I would pay over the course of time if I bought that same product each time I needed it at regular price. I want to start stocking up on everything, and hope to get a deep freeze soon to allow me to stock up on food items when they are on sale cheap. So do you do this? What items do you like to keep a stock pile of? Do you save alot of money this way, like I do? | |
| | What is the best buy you've ever gotten at a Dollar Store? | | I just love the dollar store. We have one here called Dollarama and it's just the best thing since sliced bread. I have gotten soooo many great deals there, and I am not just talking about regular one dollar items either. On many mnay occasions I have been able to buy BRAND NAME bath and beauty products at Dollarama. Just yesterday I went there and found Biore face wash and face masque. I bought 3 tubes of face wash and one tube of masque at $1 each. Then I went to Sobeys to get my groceries and decided to take a wlk down the self-care product isle and see what I would have paid for those same prodcuts there. Can you believe $11.99+tax for each tube. I was so impressed by the savings that I now regreat not picking up more, and I will if there is any left when I get there next. A few other things that I have gotten at this same dollar store in the past are: Jergens Body Lotion, John Freida hair care products, Atmosphere bath products, and Pantene ProV Shampoo.
