| | House of Sand by Elvis Presley | | One little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all aroundhow many of u remember this song .. the words r so beautiful. is it not tru that everything could end just like that~ a small/tiny mistake and whole life/relationship could end ..here is the whole lyrics for u:
from "http://www.poemhunter.com/song/house-of-sand/"Oh you can take a whole lot of sand
And build a castle on the beach
And though you mold it and you plan
Still you got nothing in your reachOne little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all around
Like a house without love, that’s sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of artYou can build a tower of clay
But if you ask my advice
Well it is worthless as I say
I got no heart it’s cold as iceOne little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all around
Like a house without love, that’s sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of artOne little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all around
Like a house without love, that’s sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of art
A house of sand is an empty work...
| | thunder | | When there is a heavy downpour, we often hear the sound of thunder. But sometimes the thunder sound is so very loud and i fear as if some thunderball is going to fall on my house. Untill the rain stops, i can't do my work peacefully. i want to know whether all are afraid of this thunder sound? | |
| | Do you have dreams ever night after you sleep? | | I have dreams ever night, and when I get up,I can remember a minority of them.
I always dream some beautiful scene like a village with mountain, stream,or the moon fall into my house, haha,it's so funny in my dream.
But I heard that have dreams is not a healthy habit,it manifest that I have a bad sleep.do you agree?
tell me,do you have dreams ever night?house without love, that’s sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of artOne little slip and it tumbles down
One wrong step and it crumbles all around
Like a house without love, that’s sure to fall apart
A house of sand is an empty work of art
A house of sand is an empty work of art
A house of sand is an empty work of artcheers
| | | how to protect you home from a tornado | | Even if you live outside “Tornado Alley,” the area of the country that runs north from Texas through eastern Nebraska and northeast to Indiana, you are still vulnerable to tornadoes. Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas may see more of these unpredictable and dangerous storms than other states, but the rest of the country also gets its share of twisters. You don’t have to be blown away when nature lets loose. It’s never too early to prepare and you can take several basic steps right now to protect your family and your home from disaster.
First Things First
Structures built to meet or exceed current model building codes for high-wind regions have a much better chance of surviving violent windstorms. The Standard Building Code, promulgated by the Southern Building Code Congress International, Inc., is one source for guidance on fortifying your home against fierce winds. Although no home can withstand a direct hit from a severe tornado, good construction will help your home survive if it’s to the side of the tornado’s path.
When inspecting your home, pay particular attention to the windows, doors, roof, gables and connections (roof-to-wall, wall-to-foundation). Residences in inland areas...
| | What if a billboard, big bilboard stands a few meters in fron of your house? | | I think that horrible and terrible thing, the government who allow that was nerd. How come he allow a billboard about 25 meter high in front of my house? Don't they think that it's not safe and secure for people nearby? Imagine if there is an earthquake or something! Other side, the street is lighter than before. No more drunkard hang around at the street.I am afraid of an earthquake, it will fall upon my house, I confuse so much. | |
| | How to cut down a dead tree without limbs that is leaning toward my house. | | The tree is dead, has no limbs-looks like a phone pole. It's straight from the ground up for about 12 feet than it begins to lean towards my house. I know that when a strong storm blows, there is a better than good chance it will fall into my house. I need to cut it down a.s.a.p. I have a chain saw and want to do it myself. I know about making the cut on the side of the tree so it falls in that direction. I'm afraid though, since it is basically rotten near the base it may not fall that way. Any suggestions? | |
| | Do you like thunderstorms? | | Most of the time I do, I like watching the lightening flash in the sky and hear the crack of thunder. But on Sunday night, the Northeaster that hammered the east coast from Maine to South Carolina was bad, and even though we are farthur west, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we got our share of bad weather. Power was out for over 24 hours in half the town, schools and businesses were closed, and I had to drive to the other side of town just to put gas in my car yesterday. On Sunday night, the thunder was cracking above my house so loud that it was shaking my whole house, and it was quite awesome but scary! The animals were freaked out, and there wasn't much I could do to comfort them. The wind was bad too, at upwards of 70 miles per hour. There are big old rotten trees on the neighboring lot and we were worried that one of them would fall on our house. Today, businesses are back open and life goes on, the sun is shining and except for the downed tree limbs and such, it's as if the storm never happened. | |
| | Lost Our Power Thanks to An Ice Storm | | Well a little after 8 p.m. central US time last night,2-24-07,our power went out after flicking most of the day because of freezing rain and high winds.I am at my mom's house, which is 20 minutes from where we live, using her computer. When we left our house three hours ago the power was still out. There are parts of town where we live that have power back on,but not us.There is talk that it might not be back on until Tuesday. We burned candles and used a rechargeable light thing.I used two stove burners for a little while on and off.Threw more blankets on the beds last night.By the time I got up at 9 this morning, after a very restless night, the temp in the house was 60.Not too bad considering the temp outside.I wanted to bring our freezer items to my mom's and put in her big freezer. It's cold enough outside that I could put our refrigerator items in a cooler outside, but not cold enough to keep the frozen items cold enough. The kids were pretty bored...let them play their Gameboy Advance game systems.Went to Walmart and Lowe's while we are here in this town to get more candles, some C batteries, and I wanted oil lamps and something for heat that was powered by propane. No one had either of... | |
