Hustle and Bustle
hello. Now that christmas is just around the corner, everyone will start to prepare for it.With all the washing down . the painting, cleaning, etc and not to mention all the baking and cooking, have you ever became so tired by the time christmas eve came around that you couldn't really enjoy the evening? To go along with the list i previous mentioned we have the gift buying and the putting up of decorations. It takes alot to get our homes ready fr the holidays. The last couple of years i started to space all my chores and tasks so when it came to christmas eve,I was all prepared. It makes it so much easier to be able to enjoy it.How do you handle all the preparation for Christmas?Any tips on making it easier? happy mylotting
Hustle, bustle and taxes
My wife does the taxes every year. For some reason at that time of year is when SUDDENLY the whole mess of paperwork that has grown seemingly organically through the house, MUST be organized, all receipts found and put in order, all past due bills or things needing to be resolved stuck in one pile, files straightened and added to, and shredding for anything that could result in our identity being stolen yet again.Does anyone else have a tax-time bustle or a similar `hey, we now have to do something we should have been upkeeping all along` or is there a better way to do this
The Christmas Bustle
So going to the mall two days ago was absolutely a bad idea? It looked like there were a bunch of hungry people looking to snatch up the next big deal, but what about today? Do you think it will be just as bad as it was two days ago? That's something to think about. Well, believe it or not I am headed to the mall on Christmas Eve; because after wrapping gifts, I found out that my aunt's present was broken. I got her crystal candle holders and you would think that they would be wrapped much better than they actually were for the price I paid.So if any of you see a guy hunched over on the floor begging for help, that's just me after getting trampled over by the thousands that will be in the stores today. Do any of you like last minute shopping? I hate it but sometimes I guess it can be fun. I will be writing later in a bit. Right now I need to go shower, go to Belk's for the return, come back and wrap and hope that I can call my mother and she will wrap the gifts I forgot at her house for my cousins. Talk to you soon.
Do you have time to just sit and think of nothing?
My dad shared his new-found joy of just sitting and thinking of nothing. He told us he hasn't done that in well over a decade now and he was glad he had done that a few days back.It made me wonder though, with all the hustle and bustle of our lives, we can't really find the time to stop thinking of our concerns and just to sit still. I too am not fortunate in that sense because there are just far too many concerns in my life.Do you still find time to just sit and think of nothing? It makes me feel relaxed when I do so. A sort of 'release' to the world full of worries.

A Nor`Easter In New England?
whoda thunk??really people.. why all the hustle and bustle when a new storm blows in? this is NEW ENGLAND.. where if you dont like the weather, just wait five minutes! it always amazes me the lines at the grocery stores.. at the gas stations.. the hoarding of supplies that goes on when it is predicted that a storm is on the way. having lived in new england all my life.. it is just common sense to ALWAYS be prepared! make sure you have enough water, batteries, etc etc blahblahblah. labor rolls around.. you put that shovel and the bag of kitty litter in the trunk "just in case" and still.. these people are scurrying like squirrels with a nut at the very LAST minute! where yall from anyways?? florida? where 2 inches of snow cripples the entire community and is call for a state of emergency? get real.. and get weatherized!!
I have a daughter-in-law!!!
Yes, that is right. I have a daughter-in-law now (happy dance). As many of you know, my son served 7 years in the U.S. Army. I am so grateful to all who wrote welcome home notes to him when he would come home on leave and such. But now, I get to share the news with you..........He got married!!!!He got married on 9/11/2009 in a simple ceremony at the courthouse. The big wedding is this Saturday (2/27/2010). The hustle and bustle that is going on around me is wonderful. My son is home safe and he is so happy, he glows. I love seeing his smile. As for my new daughter-in-law.........let me introduce "Nikki". She is tall, slender and has beautiful red hair. Guess what??? She smiles all the time too.Well, at least, you all know now why I have not been posting much for the past week. I will try to post something as often as I can. I do miss you all. Do you have any daughter-in-law's or son-in-law's?? Was it exciting when the kids were getting married? Was there a lot of food??? We seem to have a lot of food.
How to spend New Years
As the New Year approaches, there is a lot of hustle and bustle about events that are going to take place. Unfortunately, I will not be attending any. I had a few plans for new years celebrations but because of one thing or another they are cancelled. Therefore this New Years Eve, I will be spending alone. I have been to a few websites to find out what to do during this solitary time. Renting movies seems like the best choice but I would like to find out any other opinions of people who will, like me, be spending their New Year's alone. See, usually when I spend my New Years alone, it is depressing and annoying. This year I am going to do my best to forget the fact that I am not out partying along with the rest of the people my age. What do you think?
