Here I was concerned about a thunderstorm...
I am dog sitting for a neighbor whose dog is terrified of storms. I live in Ohio, so I kept watch on this storm coming up out of Mississippi. Fortunately we only got rain with a little wind and so after I let the dog out for the last time tonight, I came home only to find that this rain storm we got was a remnant of something worse. Here is what I found when I turned on my computer. I feel bad too, because here I was concerned about thunder and lightening, because if it got that bad, I would have had to stay over at my neighbors. (Not that they'd make me, but this is another dog I truly love and would stay with her if her needed me) Then to come home to see this..I feel for the families of the victims and pray that they have peace during this time..Plus, there is another storm heading our way from St. Louis that looks like it might be bad. If in the...
Can you really get an electrickshock if you shower when thunderstorm happening?
Okay, it's been raining, and little too much wind and little thunder too. I went to work this afternoon, I talked to a new coworker. Somehow we got into conversation that she believe if a person shower when thunderstorm happening, they can get electric shock. I told her that sound like an old urban legend. I mean I can't count how many times I shower, when the weather outside were crazy. But never got any shock. Do you believe this urban legend? Has anybody experience getting any electric shock when you shower?
Can you Sleep Through a Thunderstorm?
I'm a light sleeper. If it's thundering outside then I most likely will not be able to get to sleep. I'm too worried watching the lightning. Can you sleep through A Thunderstorm?is is another dog I truly love and would stay with her if her needed me) Then to come home to see this..I feel for the families of the victims and pray that they have peace during this time..Plus, there is another storm heading our way from St. Louis that looks like it might be bad. If in the middle of the night I hear thunder, I will drive over to my neighbors house. But hopefully it won't be here until tomorrow morning, when I am more alert.
We are having a bad thunderstorm here right now perfect time to take a nap
It's pouring down rain and thundering really bad, and since I was up just about all night last night with our newborn and I think Im going to call it quits for awhile this afternoon and take advantage of the whether and take a good nap epsecially while she is sleeping right now Im going to take her to our bedroom and put her in her crib because hubby and the other kids will be home shortly. So I am going to log off for awhile and get a much needed nap in while I care. Do you like to sleep when it's raining like this?
Unplug home applainces during a heavy thunderstorm?
Here at my place most of us unplug our electrical applainces after switching them off during a heavy thunderstorm, we also avoid the phones and remove the cable from the television and remove the internet cable...i have heard that people have died talking on landline phone before when a huge thunder crashed and also that it can sometimes damage your applainces if running... do you feel the need to do that?
Do you like Thunderstorm?????????

Do You Talk On The Phone During A Thunderstorm?
Gosh!! IhopeNOT!! I sure don't!! I've heard stories of people getting hit by lightening while talking on the telephone and were killed and I've read a book about a man who was nearly killed while talking on the phone. A bolt of lightening came through his telephone line and knocked him out and when he came to, he had severe burns all over his body!! He was lucky though because he lived through it whereas, most do not.So do you play it safe and let the phone ring during a thunderstorm? I always play it safe and let my Answering Machine get it. Now if it were an emergency then I might take a chance depending on how bad the emergency is.Now, I don't know about cell phones though and do wonder. Do you know if cell phones are included? I know that land lines are very dangerous during storms and would think that cell phones are too but I'm not sure on that. Now I have a story to tell that was told to me by my grandmother. It's a right sad story but a true one nonetheless. When she married my grandfather, she was working at a pizza place and it was nearby a...
Do You Turn Off Your Computer When There's a Thunderstorm?
Hello Fellow myLot Members, Yesterday I was online when all of a sudden - BOOM, POW, a loud clap of thunder. Although I wasn't even half way through what I needed to do online I quickly logged off just to be on the safe side. But as they say, every cloud has a silver lining and here I am the next day, with the weather cooperating, posting my thoughts on this matter. What about you? When you're online do you shut the system down when the weather gets bad, even if you have much work to do? It may take discipline but I believe it's well worth it. Your system could get fried and even worse, you could get fried,or at least burned.
When there's a severe thunderstorm with heavy raining, is it relaxing for you?
Yesterday on 4/10/2009, after I came from eating out, going home and setting up my PS2, while playing "Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner" I kept seeing flashes of lightning repeatedly but randomly, sounds of thunder booming, and very heavy rain outside. When I was eating out it didn't rain as it did where I live. This was because of a hurricane alert that came on our satellite TV later on, and the whole house had a brownout, the whole of electricity flickering in and out.I don't know, but heavy rains and severe thunderstorms at night outside seem to be...relaxing...for use of a better word. Somehow it has a tranquil effect when seeing something like that, especially when it used to be scary.Did any of you have that exact, strangely relaxing feeling when it comes to a heavy downpour and severe thunderstorms?
Rain or thunderstorm?
I'm not a fan of either but I guess I like the thunderstorm better. In PI between June-September we get so much rain. And I hate it. I hate it because we have to suffer again the flood and like how useful the drainage are in Manila.[em]angry[/em] I think thunderstorm is just exciting. I like it when I'm with someone. You know cuddling and stuff, pretending I'm scared even I'm not so I could get a tight hug. Lol So thunderstorm would be cool, though rain would be nice too.[em]lol[/em]
